View larger. | Story Star Wars The Clone Wars: Republic Heroes lets Star Wars fans young and old live out the sweeping galactic adventures of the Clone Wars. For the first time ever, players can fight as their favorite Jedi and clone troopers from the preeminent animated television series – from familiar faces like Anakin Skywalker to new heroes like Clone Captain Rex. A brand-new storyline, which bridges the gap between season one and two, takes the player on a multifaceted adventure to stop a mysterious techno assassin’s destructive plot. Built around two-player cooperative action, the accessible controls and family-friendly gameplay bring Star Wars fans across generations together like never before to fight the evil Separatists and restore peace to the galaxy. Gameplay Gameplay in Star Wars the Clone Wars: Republic Heroes is mission-based. Players can choose to approach the action as either a Jedi or a clone class character. Playing as a Jedi you have access to eight playable characters, and as a clone you play as one of a group of clones. The game was developed with co-op play in mind, which means players can more or less count on never fighting alone, which is a good thing considering the hordes of battle droids and other enemies you will face. The game also features a puzzle-solving gameplay component, as well as an upgrade system based on the collection of "Force Orbs" scattered throughout the game environment. Weapons and Combat Keeping with the games' user friendly approach, the control scheme has been designed with Jedi character's lightsaber and force powers, as well as clone characters firing trigger accessible from a single input source. Because of the difference in the character classes weapons, combat differs depending on the class chosen. Due to their reliance on the their lightsabers, Jedi will mostly engage enemies at close range, although force power attacks can allow for more distance from targets. In addition, utilizing Jedi powers at point blank range players are able to engage in "droidjacking," which allows a Jedi to take control of a droid's weapons system and other abilities. On the other hand, clone character combat relies more on firepower, utilizing a variety of blaster type weapons and thermal grenades, although clones are able to acquire heavier weapons, such as miniguns and rocket launchers as the game progresses. Because of the projectile nature of these weapons clone character combat can be fought as a variety of distances. Key Game Features - Experience an all-new and exciting Clone Wars storyline that bridges the gap between season one and two of the TV series as you learn more about the mysterious bounty hunter Cad Bane and hunt down the all-new Skakoan super villain Kul Teska.

- Slice and dice your way through Separatist droids with your lightsaber and Force powers and use your agility to perform amazing leaps and navigate levels filled with interactivity.
- Turn your enemies into weapons as you commandeer droids and use their unique abilities to blast enemies and solve puzzles as a Jedi.

Just a very bad game. July 17, 2010 L. Hong (California) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
The game is not fun to play. It might to nice to watch on rare occasions, but the controls are terrible and the entire game is fairly repetitive. Yes, there are different characters, but they're all relatively the same--just Jedis and Troopers. The puzzles are easy--which is good for a kids game--but the physics system and hit detection is horrible.
Stay away from this game unless it's for someone you don't like or it's for a child who doesn't have a good grasp of what a good game is and is very patient when they jump on a platform only to fall through it.
My 4 and 6 year olds love this game. Definitely not for adult SW fans though... July 3, 2010 Charles Douglas III 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
As a long time Star Wars fan and a fan of the new Clone Wars series, I've been looking for a game similar to SW Battlefront for my kids. While not a game that I myself can play for too long, it's easily a favorite of my sons and they keep it in their regular cycle with their lego, spiderman and ironman games.
The controls were easy for them to adopt, and the penalty for death is similar to lego games: if you're killed, you just re-spawn. The extra perks like helmet/mask purchasing, droid riding and dancing, and special upgrades are enough to keep them coming back.
...And I'll admit, seeing notable troopers like Denal and Ponds in action, along with some really cool looking trooper additions, was enough to keep me watching while they played the first few times. A great family game, even if not up to the caliber of more adult-oriented action games
Good game for kids June 26, 2010 S. Rausch 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Like most of the reviews above, this is a game best suited for a younger crowd. As a gamer myself, I found this game very lacking when it comes to challanges and length. It's very short, and very easy to pick up.
My 7 year old loves it though. He loves the Star Wars series, especially clone wars since it's a cartoon so this was a perfect gift for him.
My recommendation: do not buy it if you're looking for a good engaging game for yourself; do buy it if you're looking for a fun game to play with your kids.
Far from perfect, but not all that bad. May 20, 2010 Richard L. Knight 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
A lot of people seem to really dislike this game, but I have to admit I had fun with it. A few spots were frustrating due to skewed camera angles, but the game does a pretty good job of helping you out with platform jumping. One particularly maddening part that stands out in my mind is the first instance where you have to jump off the side of a cliff and onto one of those droid speeder bike things. I must have jumped to my death about 50 times before I realized you had to do a double-jump to mount vehicles. This nearly sent my controller whizzing through the air at a very high velocity. I can understand people not liking the simplistic nature of the gameplay, and some aspects of the game do feel like they were rushed through the Q.A. department, but overall I enjoyed it. Anyone expecting an experience like The Force Unleashed will be sorely disappointed.
FOR A CLONE WARS FANS!!!! May 1, 2010 G. Castaneda (North Carolina, USA) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
